Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Pier

Our drive from Mountain View to Santa Cruz was around an hour (arrived around 1:15pm). We parked ($1/hr or $5 all day) about 5 to 10 minute walk from the pier. The pier was filled with run down shops and a couple places to eat. The pier seemed pretty run down, but was the host to many sea lions (pretty neat). We then walked across the beach to the boardwalk. The boardwalk was filled with many tourist shops and tons of rides and activities for everyone. We were told there would be many bums roaming around, but we didn't see too many and felt safe walking around. Overall Santa Cruz was full of over priced tourist traps. Great place to see the Pacific Ocean and get the feel of beach life.

Don't expect too much. We could only drive around Infinite Loop and visit the Main Apple Store.
